Employee Spotlight: Mark

Meet Mark, Director of Support at AngelCom

POSITION: Director of Support

How long have you been with AngelCom?

I was originally with AngelCom for seven years, and now being back I am two months in. My position is Director of Support, I will be assisting in ensuring timely support and customer satisfaction.

What is your favorite thing about working at AngelCom?

The company culture of caring customer service that has been cultivated over the past 30 years.

What does a typical day at AngelCom look like in your role?

Right now my days are consumed with learning the team and our customers. I have thrown myself in the mix as a delivery engineer to better learn the systems and processes that are currently in place before taking a step back and making recommendations for improving service delivery and managing the service that is being delivered.

I am an amateur musician and enjoy creating music in my free time.

AngelCom Director of Support

What is one thing you cannot resist?

What’s your favorite thing about where you live?

Living close to the Cascade Mountains, the ability to get deep into the woods in around 30mins is amazing.

What was the last concert you went to?

Tool at the Tacoma Dome!

What was the best vacation you ever went on?

Yearly road trips with my son! Typically adventuring around the PNW exploring places we haven’t been before.

Would you rather go snorkeling or skydiving, and why?

I am a self-described land mammal, I prefer to be on land. But if I had to choose, I would likely go skydiving with a childhood friend that is a professional skydiver.

What do you do in your free time?

Create and play music, adventure around in the woods, and research local history, and parent my child

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

I’ve thought long and hard about this one but my reasoning may be different than what would be assumed. I would be a vulture. Vultures have cultivated their spot in the world to be peaceful and non-intrusive, and are vital to the ecosystem from the ground up. They do not get sick, they do not kill for food, they have no predators, and they help to breakdown pathogens making the world safer for all its inhabitants.

What are you currently streaming?

My 100th rewatch of Futurama

What are your indoor and outdoor hobbies?

  1. Indoor:
    • Music: Guitar, bass, keyboard, vocals and recording
    • Gaming: Mostly retro gaming at this point
    • Circuit level electronics repair
  2. Outdoor:
    • Snowboarding
    • Hiking
    • Fishing
    • Overlanding
    • Mountain biking
    • Playing with my son!

Do you have a secret talent no one knows about?

I have hypermobility in my joints and because of that I have never broken a bone.
