Personal Computer Support
We (Most) computer users tend to label their machines as either “PC” or “Mac” depending on which operating system is installed. If you have a laptop or desktop computer with Windows installed, we call it a “PC”. Contrarily, if you have a desktop or laptop computer with OSX installed, we call it a “Mac”. So for this page, we will be using the term “PC” as is popularly defined.
Alright, what’s a PC made up of anyway?
Well, lets see. Some standard parts include:
3. Power Supply
4. Hard Drive (I prefer an SSD!)
5. Case or outer shell
6. Memory or RAM
7. Fans to keep things cool
8. Windows! (As of the writing of this page, windows 8.1 is current and windows 10 is out in beta)
9. A few cables
10. Other stuff like video and network cards.
The benefits of owning a PC include parts availability and sourcing, as well as a usually lower price point and a high level of customization. You want a computer that looks like a space ship? No problem! PC’s are also compatible with almost all software and hardware. In short, PC’s are great!
And with the good comes the bad.. get ready for it… PC’s statistically have more problems than their Mac counterpart. One of the reasons for this is that windows computers are targeted a lot more frequently by attackers. This is due to Windows enormous popularity (over 90% market share). But no worries, in the world of computer repair, PC’s are definitely the easiest (our favorites) to work on. We can usually have your needed parts in the store the same day you come in or within a week.
We take care of all types of PC repair. Including but not limited to:
- Virus Removal
- Spyware Removal
- New Software Installation and setup
- Upgrade to Windows 8.1
- System Optimization
- Hard Drive Replacement
- SSD Upgrade
- Adding RAM
- Video Card Upgrade
- Blue Screen Errors
- Ransom ware removal
