Employee Spotlight

Meet NICK, AN AngelCom Employee

POSITION: HARDWARE TECHNICIAN

Tell us about your work at AngelCom?

I’ve been with the company for about a year now and I take care of most computers that come into shop that have hardware-related issues along with a variety of troubleshooting (whether remote or onsite). I’m also a part of taking phone calls and creating tickets for other techs.

What is your favorite thing about working at AngelCom?

What I love most about this company is the true feeling of a small business and personally knowing all the people I work with. It’s a great atmosphere with plenty of support from all the coworkers.

What does a typical day at AngelCom look like in your role?

A usual day goes; I come in, check voicemails, messages, and emails. Then start working on projects I have going or call out to schedule times to go out and work on projects. If a phone call comes in, I answer and see if it’s a simple issue I can fix on the spot.

If it’s more then I make a ticket so that another tech can help them. Also taking in inventory and making sure everything shows up.

You could say I’m the human filter for calls or requests coming into the office. If you’ve called or emailed our main lines, you’ve most likely talked to me at one point or another.

Nick,
AngelCom Hardware Technician

What is one thing you cannot resist?

Good food, if its there, people are eating it, and saying it’s good. I’ll try it for sure.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

I’m a huge fan of 80’s hair metal, I’d like to think I know more useless trivia about that genre than the average person.

What do you do in your free time?

Mostly hanging with friends, taking care of my car, golfing when it’s nice out, and staying in watching YouTube.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

If I had to be an animal, I’d be a dog. They’re very social and generally happy, plus they are some of the best companions in the world.

What are your indoor and outdoor hobbies?

Some of my indoor hobbies are playing video games, watching YouTube, playing Magic the Gathering. Outdoor hobbies include, hiking, fishing, golfing, going to car meetups, and generally exploring new places.

What are you currently watching on Netflix?

Currently I’m Formula One: Drive to Survive, it goes into what teams are going through inside and outside of the races. Whether it’s getting funding for the teams, engineering challenges, and just general drama of the racing world it’s very entertaining.

Do you have a secret talent no one knows about?

A secret talent not many know is I can solve a Rubik’s cube pretty quickly, I used to compete back in high school in Rubik’s cube competitions.
